Shires Boat Club is a Community Interest Company affiliated to British Rowing and based at the University of Worcester Lakeside Campus.
The Club has been created to develop and coach rowing for all abilities and ages to promote Health & Wellbeing. By use of stable and adapted equipment, the Club aims to provide access for all and a pathway for personal development in all areas of slide seat rowing.
Based at the University’s Lakeside Campus, the Club offers an ideal environment for an introduction to rowing. Easy access, private water and stable conditions create a very user-friendly facility and provides Shires an excellent platform for coaching.
The Club will work with a fleet comprising Class ‘C’ type fours, Coastal doubles, and adapted singles to facilitate a wide range of rowing activities including Recreational Touring & Competition, Social Rowing, Coastal Rowing and Adaptive Rowing.
Membership and courses are offered to everyone in the West Midlands Region who would like to take up the sport for the first time or actively participate in Recreational, Adaptive or Coastal Rowing.

The club will operate as a Community Interest Company and is committed to promoting health and wellbeing through sports, while encouraging and facilitating the contribution to and participation in the sport of rowing. This will be a multi-sport club that provides opportunities for members of the community to engage in a wide range of physical activities. The Club is based at the University of Worcester Lakeside Campus in Worcestershire.
